Hello!

     My name is Sarah. I am the designer, creator, and mastermind behind Feather & Flame candles.  Allow me to share the story of how my hobby became a business with you.

     A little over 10 years ago I was on maternity leave from my job in retail sales.  My Mom got me a small candle making kit as a gift.  I have always loved candles, so this was a lovely surprise.  Life was hectic at that time, but I decided to try out the kit.  I made a few candles with the provided materials in the set.  I kept a couple, and I gave a couple away as gifts.  I discovered there is so much more to candle making than I thought!  Before I knew it I was experimenting with scents, and trying different vessels.  Every time I made a few I always shared with my friends and family.  This continued periodically as life would allow.  In a few years time I started getting request from people wanting candles.  So, I started making more candles! Friends started telling me that they would pay me if I made them another. I really enjoy when someone loves what I've created.

     We moved to a small community in Oklahoma with our kids, the ride continuing as it does. Our visits to our local Farmer's & Artisan Market every Saturday began to look like an opportunity. With the support of my husband and family I decided to take a chance.  I always put 100% into what I do, therefore, my research began.  I studied the science behind candle making, and turns out you do need Algebra!  Not to mention the chemistry!  I have experimented with the process, finding failures and successes along the way.  So, after much thought and discussion, I prepared a large batch and brought my inventory to the local Farmer's market.  We were a hit!  I started to believe it was possible to achieve my goal.  That's how it all began.  

     It is my intention to create amazing products that bring joy into your world.  I have worked tirelessly to design our candles for the best experience.  All of our candles are made from 100% Soy wax. We will never use paraffin, or additives.  I have developed each of my unique candle scents using high quality fragrance oils from top rated manufacturers.  Whether it's time to get energized, you need a moment of peace, or you want to make the day magical.   I sincerely hope you enjoy my creations.
